The setup

Volume (mL) ÷ Time (hr) = mL/hr

If time is in minutes, divide by 60 first.

100 mL over 30 min: 30 ÷ 60 = 0.5 hr; 100 ÷ 0.5 = 200 mL/hr

Common mistakes

  • Dividing by minutes when the answer is per hour.
  • Dividing time by volume.
